What is light cotton crepe best for?
Holding dressings in place and giving light support. It is a standard conforming weave rather than a high-stretch elastic, so it is the economical choice where the bandage is doing retention work rather than compression.
How does it compare with elastic and medium crepe?
Elastic crepe has the most stretch and suits compression and immobilisation. Medium cotton crepe gives more support than light. Light cotton crepe is the lightest of the three and the usual pick for dressing retention.
When do I need a 10cm bandage rather than 7.5cm?
When the dressing or the limb is wide enough that 7.5cm would need several overlapping passes — calves, thighs, upper arms and larger burn or trauma pads. Fewer passes means faster application and less bulk.
