How does a foil blanket actually help?
It reflects radiated body heat back toward the casualty instead of letting it escape. It adds no warmth of its own — it slows loss. That is why it works best wrapped over the casualty with the shiny side inward and something insulating underneath them.
Why does shock need warmth?
In shock, circulation is prioritised to vital organs and the body loses its grip on temperature. Keeping the casualty warm is standard shock management alongside positioning and calling for help.
Is it reusable?
Treat it as single use. The foil creases and tears in use, and after an incident it will usually be contaminated. At bulk pricing there is no reason to reuse one.
Why buy a bag of 100?
Because they are consumed in kit assembly and never used singly at scale. Anyone building or servicing multiple kits, or running events, gets a far better unit price than buying one at a time.
