They are formulated for benches, trolleys and equipment — using them on skin would be unnecessarily harsh, and there are alcohol-free cleansing wipes for that. Tub of 75, 420 x 145mm sheets. Can I use these on skin?
No. These are specified for hard surfaces. On skin, 70% IPA at this saturation is drying and will sting on broken skin — the alcohol-free cleansing wipes exist for that job.
Why 70% and not higher?
70% is more effective as a disinfectant than higher concentrations. Some water in the mix helps the alcohol penetrate and act on the cell, where near-pure alcohol evaporates too fast to do the job.
Tub or pouch?
A tub suits a fixed spot — a bench, treatment room or workshop — where wipes get pulled all day. A resealable pouch travels better in a bag or vehicle.
How should they be stored?
Keep the lid closed so the wipes stay moist, and store away from heat and ignition sources. Isopropyl alcohol is flammable.
