Betadine Antiseptic Spray 75ml - Povidone-Iodine

Betadine Antiseptic Liquid Spray in a 75ml bottle, containing povidone-iodine 50mg/mL, equivalent to 5mg/mL available iodine. It is used on minor cuts, abrasions and minor burns, and for treating minor skin infections. The spray format means it can be applied without touching the wound. AUST R 30103, for external use only.

Using Betadine spray safely

Spray onto the affected area two or three times a day, or as directed. It is for external use only - not for the eyes, not to be swallowed, and not for deep or puncture wounds, serious burns or animal bites, which need medical assessment rather than a home antiseptic. Iodine is absorbed through skin, so there are people who should check with a doctor or pharmacist first: anyone with a thyroid condition, anyone with a known iodine sensitivity, and anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. The same applies if you are treating a large area or broken skin over a long period. Stop using it if irritation develops, and see a doctor if a wound is not improving, or becomes more painful, red, swollen or starts discharging.
