Chlorhexidine 0.05% with Cetrimide 0.5% in a 30mL sterile ampoule, for cleansing and irrigating dirty wounds. The two actives do different jobs, which is why they are combined: cetrimide is a surfactant that lifts grit and debris off the wound surface, while chlorhexidine is the antimicrobial. Flushing a dirty wound properly also matters for what comes next — dressings and pads only adhere correctly to a clean surface. Box of 30.

Chlorhexidine and Cetrimide FAQs

Why combine chlorhexidine with cetrimide?

They tackle different problems. Cetrimide is a surfactant that loosens and lifts dirt and debris from the wound surface; chlorhexidine kills bacteria. An antiseptic alone will not clean grit out of a graze.

When would I use this instead of saline?

Saline is the gentler choice for a clean wound or for eyes. This combination is for a genuinely dirty wound — gravel rash, a fall on a worksite — where debris has to be lifted as well as the wound disinfected.

Why single-use ampoules?

A sterile ampoule is sterile only until opened. Single use means each wound and each patient gets a clean, uncontaminated solution, which a shared bottle cannot guarantee.

Can it be used in the eye?

No. This is a wound cleanser. For eyes use a sterile sodium chloride 0.9% eyewash, which is isotonic and formulated for ocular use.
