Where the 60% glycerin matters
Glycerin is a humectant: it draws and holds water in the outer skin layer. At 60% this is less a wash that happens to moisturise and more a moisturising treatment that happens to clean, which is why it sits at the intensive end of the range.
The practical effect people notice is that skin does not feel tight after washing. That tight feeling is the surfactant having stripped the skin’s own lipids, and it is the reason ordinary soap makes very dry skin worse.

Getting more out of it
Two things matter more than the product. Wash in warm rather than hot water, because heat strips lipids faster than any cleanser. And apply a moisturiser within a few minutes of patting dry, while the skin is still slightly damp, which is when it holds the most water.
Soap-free and low irritant is not the same as hypoallergenic for everyone. If your skin is reactive, patch test on a small area first and introduce one new product at a time, so you can tell what caused a reaction if there is one.
When dry skin needs a doctor
Very dry skin that cracks, weeps, bleeds, becomes intensely itchy, or does not improve with consistent moisturising may be eczema or another condition that needs treatment rather than a better wash. Skin that is red, hot and spreading may be infected and needs prompt review.

How is it different from QV Gentle Wash?
Concentration. Gentle Wash suits everyday washing of dry and sensitive skin; the Intensive Cleanser is for skin at the extreme end, where ordinary washing leaves it tight and itchy.
Is it soap free?
It is formulated without soap, which is the point for very dry skin. Traditional soap has a high pH and strips the skin’s own lipids, making dryness worse with every wash.
Should I still use a moisturiser?
Yes. Apply it within a few minutes of patting dry while skin is still slightly damp. A cleanser reduces the damage washing does; it does not replace moisturising.
Does water temperature matter?
