Scale is determined by the vessel and its operation, not by preference. When determining the correct kit for survey, address the vessel’s operational area, the number of people carried, and the duration of voyages, and check those against the standard that applies to you. Ordering the wrong scale is a survey problem, not just a stocking one.

Why marine kits expire faster than you expect
A kit stored aboard lives in salt air, humidity and temperature swings. Adhesive dressings suffer first, then anything with a printed instruction or a paper backing. Check the pack at the start of each survey cycle and after any period of heavy weather or flooding in the locker, and replace anything with a compromised seal even if it is in date.
Contents alone do not make a vessel compliant. Survey requirements also cover where the kit is stowed, that it is accessible, and in many cases the training carried aboard. A full refill pack in an inaccessible locker satisfies nothing. Confirm your obligations with your surveyor.
