AEROWASH is a safe, cleansing solution for flushing debris from eyes and wounds, made up strictly of sterile Sodium Chloride 0.9% — nothing else. That matters: 0.9% saline matches the body’s own salt concentration, so it flushes without stinging or irritating the tissue the way tap water or an antiseptic would. The 30mL ampoule holds twice the volume, for a longer flush or a larger wound without opening a second ampoule. Supplied in twist-off ampoules. Part of the Aero eye and wound wash range.

Sodium Chloride Eyewash FAQs

Why saline rather than water?

Sterile 0.9% saline is isotonic — the same salt concentration as body fluid — so it flushes without stinging or damaging the surface of the eye or wound. Tap water is neither sterile nor isotonic.

How much do I need for an eye flush?

For a minor speck of dust an ampoule or two is usually enough. For a chemical splash the guidance is a continuous flush for at least 15 to 20 minutes, which means a plumbed or portable eyewash station, not ampoules.

Can the same ampoule do both eyes?

Treat each ampoule as single use, and do not reuse one between eyes or between people. They are sterile only until opened, and cross-contaminating an eye injury is a real risk.

Which size should a kit carry?

15ml ampoules suit most kits because they are compact and you can open several. 30mL suits a longer flush or a bigger wound with fewer ampoules to open.
