5cm x 10m with 10 zip ties.

Collar N Cuff is manufactured from soft foam covered by a sleeve of stockinette. The soft foam in its sleeve provides strong, but comfortable, support when fastened in position with the plastic strips supplied. Used in place of traditional slings, Collar N Cuff provides comfort for the patient without additional padding. As a balanced arm sling, Collar n Cuff provides effective support at the elbow and wrist, without obscuring the affected limb and without applying any force to the injured side.

What is a collar and cuff sling?

A collar and cuff sling supports an injured arm by looping soft, foam-covered material around the neck and the wrist, letting the elbow hang freely. This 5cm x 10m roll is cut to the length you need and secured with the included zip ties, so one product suits patients of any size — ideal for clinics, sports trainers and first aid rooms.

What is a collar and cuff sling used for?

  • Supporting shoulder injuries and upper-arm (humerus) fractures, where the elbow is allowed to hang
  • Resting and immobilising an injured wrist, forearm or elbow
  • Post-injury and post-procedure arm support

How to apply

Cut a length to suit the patient, pass it around the neck and support the wrist, then fasten with a zip tie so the arm rests comfortably. Adjust so the hand is slightly elevated and circulation is not restricted.

Note: a collar and cuff lets the elbow hang (useful for some upper-arm injuries), whereas a broad-arm sling supports the whole forearm. For suspected fractures, immobilise and seek medical assessment. Check the fingers stay warm and pink — loosen if not.

Restock replacement zip ties, and browse our bandages and sports first aid kits.

Collar and Cuff Sling FAQs

What is a collar and cuff sling used for?

Supporting an injured arm, wrist or shoulder — especially shoulder and upper-arm injuries where the elbow is left to hang. It rests and immobilises the limb while it heals.

What is the difference between a collar and cuff and an arm sling?

A collar and cuff supports only the wrist and lets the elbow hang (good for some upper-arm/shoulder injuries), while a broad-arm sling cradles the whole forearm. Your clinician will advise which suits the injury.

How do you apply a collar and cuff sling?

Cut a length from the roll, loop it around the neck and the wrist, and secure with a zip tie so the arm rests comfortably with the hand slightly raised. Check circulation regularly.

Does the roll suit different sizes?

Yes — the 5cm x 10m roll is cut to length, so one product fits children through to adults, which is why it is popular in clinics and first aid rooms.
