The Licetec head lice comb is a metal nit comb supplied in a pack of two. Its fine steel teeth are set close enough to strip both live lice and the eggs cemented to the hair shaft - which is the part most plastic combs and all ordinary brushes leave behind. Reusable, washable and effectively unbreakable.
Why a metal head lice comb beats a plastic one
Metal teeth do a job plastic ones cannot. They are thinner, stiffer and set closer together, so they pass along the hair shaft tightly enough to catch eggs rather than riding over them. Plastic teeth flex apart under tension, which is exactly when a nit slips through. If combing has previously seemed useless, the comb rather than the technique is often why.
Combing is not the poor relation of chemical treatment - it is what actually finishes the job. No treatment kills 100 percent of eggs, so the survivors hatch and reinfest unless they are physically removed.
