MOOV Head Lice Comb - Steel Nit Comb for Lice and Eggs
Helps to easily detect and remove head lice and eggs.
The MOOV head lice comb is a steel nit comb built to detect and remove head lice and their eggs. The teeth are strong and precisely aligned - the spacing is what actually catches eggs rather than sliding past them - while the rounded tips and angled handle make working through a full head of hair bearable for both people involved.
Features
- Strong steel teeth, precisely aligned to catch lice and eggs
- Rounded tooth tips, comfortable against the scalp
- Angled handle for control and grip through long combing sessions

How to use a head lice comb
Combing works best on wet hair with conditioner through it, which stops the lice moving and lets the comb glide. Divide the hair into sections and comb each one from the scalp right through to the tip, wiping the comb on a white tissue after every stroke so you can see what has come out. Work through the whole head methodically, then repeat. Because eggs hatch over several days, combing has to be repeated every few days for around two weeks to break the cycle - a single session finds lice but will not end an infestation.
Common uses
Detecting and removing head lice at home, alongside a treatment product; routine checking during a school or childcare outbreak; and follow-up combing to confirm an infestation has cleared. Browse related first aid supplies, or see more medical supplies at MediBC.
Head Lice Comb FAQs
How do you use a head lice comb?
On wet hair with conditioner applied. Comb each section from scalp to tip, wiping the comb on white tissue after every stroke to check what has been removed, and work through the entire head.
Does a nit comb remove eggs as well as lice?
Yes, that is what the close, precisely aligned teeth are for. Eggs are cemented to the hair shaft, so the comb has to run right from the scalp along the full length of the hair to strip them.
How often should you comb?
Every few days for about two weeks. Eggs hatch over several days, so repeated combing is what breaks the cycle - one session is not enough.
Do you still need a treatment product?
Combing alone can work if done thoroughly and repeatedly, and many people use it alongside a lice treatment. Follow the directions of whichever treatment you choose.
How do you clean the comb?
Wash it in hot soapy water and brush the teeth clear between uses and between people. Do not share it during an outbreak without cleaning it first.
