AEROPLAST Wound Closure Strips 6 x 100mm Box/50 (10 strips/card)
AEROPLAST Wound Closure Strips offer a painless alternative for closing minor wounds without stitching. The strips pull the edges of a clean, straight wound together and hold them while it knits — which for a shallow cut is often all that is needed. At 6 x 100mm these are the long strips, for wounds that need more span than a short strip can bridge. Supplied as a box of 50 cards, 10 strips per card. Part of the Aero wound dressings range.

Wound Closure Strip FAQs
When should closure strips be used instead of stitches?
They suit shallow, straight cuts with clean edges that come together without tension. Deep wounds, gaping wounds, wounds over a joint, animal bites and anything dirty or heavily bleeding need medical assessment — strips are not a substitute for that.
How are they applied?
Clean and dry the skin thoroughly, since they will not stick to a wet or greasy surface. Anchor one side, draw the wound edges together, then lay the strip across. Space additional strips along the wound rather than sealing it end to end.
How long do they stay on?
Usually until they lift by themselves, commonly five days to a week. Do not pick them off early. Keep them dry where you can, and seek advice if the wound becomes red, hot, swollen or starts discharging.
Why 6 x 100mm rather than the shorter strip?
Span. A longer strip reaches further either side of the wound, giving better hold on a longer cut. For a short cut the 38mm strip is easier to place and wastes less.
