AERODIAGNOSTIC Diagnostic Pen Light
The AERODIAGNOSTIC Diagnostic Pen Light is a 10cm penlight for testing pupil dilation and for use as a secondary light source when examining first aid injuries. Pupil response is one of the few quick, objective neurological checks available to a first aider, and it needs a small, focused beam — a phone torch is too broad and too bright to give a clean result. Part of the AERODIAGNOSTIC range.

Diagnostic Pen Light FAQs
Why not just use a phone torch?
A phone light is broad and very bright. It floods both eyes at once and can dazzle, which makes the pupil response hard to read and uncomfortable for the patient. A penlight gives a narrow beam you can bring to one eye at a time.
What does pupil testing tell you?
Whether the pupils are equal in size and react to light. Unequal or unreactive pupils can indicate a head injury or other serious problem, which is why the check appears in first aid assessment. Interpretation belongs with trained responders.
Is it useful beyond pupil checks?
Yes — it is the light you want for looking into a wound, checking an airway, or working in a poorly lit space, without needing a free hand for a full torch.
How is it powered?
A pen light of this size runs on small internal batteries. Check it as part of your kit inspection, since a torch that has been sitting in a kit for a year is exactly when you find the battery is flat.
