HEARTSINE Samaritan 360P Fully-Automatic Defibrillator
The HeartSine 360P (samaritan PAD 360P) is designed specifically for public areas: it is fully automatic, so it analyses the heart rhythm and delivers the shock itself after warning bystanders to stand clear. Nobody has to press anything. In a public place the person who reaches the casualty first is usually untrained and frightened, and that hesitation is precisely what a fully automatic AED removes.
Why choose the HeartSine 360P?
The argument for the HeartSine 360P is behavioural, not technical. A semi-automatic unit asks an untrained bystander to press a button that will deliver a shock to another human being — and a proportion of people simply will not do it, or will delay while they decide. A fully automatic device makes that decision for them and states clearly what is about to happen.
That makes it the right choice for shopping centres, gyms, stations, sports grounds, community halls and any unsupervised location where you cannot predict who the rescuer will be. Where responders are trained staff who want control of shock timing, a semi-automatic model is the better fit.
Everything else matches the range: the same single Pad-Pak combining battery and electrodes with a 4-year life, the same clear visual and verbal prompts, adult and paediatric capability with the correct Pad-Pak, and the same 8-year warranty.

HeartSine 360P FAQs
What does "fully automatic" mean in practice?
The device analyses the rhythm, decides a shock is needed, announces that it is about to shock and tells everyone to stand clear — then delivers it. The rescuer attaches the pads and follows the voice prompts. There is no shock button to press.
Is that safe if bystanders are close?
The unit gives a clear verbal warning before delivering the shock, and it only shocks a rhythm it has determined is shockable. Follow the prompts and keep everyone clear when told. The design assumption is an untrained rescuer, which is why the warnings are explicit.
Why choose fully automatic over semi-automatic?
Because in a public place you cannot choose your rescuer. Asking an untrained stranger to press a button that shocks a stranger introduces hesitation, and hesitation costs survival. Trained workplace responders often prefer semi-automatic for control of timing — both are valid, for different sites.
Can it be used on a child?
Yes, with the paediatric Pad-Pak fitted. Adult pads should not be used on a small child. Keep the right Pad-Pak with the unit so it is there when needed rather than ordered afterwards.
What ongoing costs should I budget for?
The Pad-Pak, replaced every four years from date of manufacture and after any use, plus a cabinet and signage so the unit is visible. Because battery and pads are one part, there is a single expiry to track rather than two.
