MT-480

The METTAG MT-480 follows the START triage approach - Simple Triage And Rapid Treatment - developed by the Newport Beach Fire and Marine Department and used by first responders to quickly classify casualties during a mass casualty incident. Unlike the MT-137, the MT-480 ships without pre-printed barcodes, leaving an empty field for your own custom tracking barcodes.

Best for: services that run their own casualty-tracking numbering or barcode systems, or prefer the START layout on durable stock.

  • Pack of 50 tags
  • Durable water-resistant, chemical-resistant stock
  • Four-colour tear-off triaging system with patient transport/identifier tear-offs on each side
  • Empty field for custom barcodes for tracking victims and their belongings
  • UV light and heat resistant
  • Pre-strung with 30 inch elastic for attaching to the casualty
  • Made in the USA by TACDA / METTAG

Prefer pre-printed sequential barcodes? See the METTAG MT-137 Disaster Triage Tags (50).

Common questions

What is START triage?

START stands for Simple Triage And Rapid Treatment - developed by the Newport Beach Fire and Marine Department in 1983, it lets first responders classify casualties in about 60 seconds using breathing, circulation and mental status checks.

Why does the MT-480 have no barcodes?

It ships with an empty barcode field so services can apply their own casualty-tracking barcodes or numbering systems, rather than using pre-printed sequential barcodes.

How is the MT-480 different from the MT-137?

The MT-137 is liquid-proof synthetic with pre-printed sequential barcodes. The MT-480 is durable water-resistant stock with a blank barcode field and patient transport tear-offs on each side.
